The Bersani Addition, also called “The Socialist Paradise” is a 2,500 square foot addition to our 1999 Cliff Barn and includes four bedrooms, a family room and a pantry and snack area as well as extensive landscaping, a pool and pool house. The exposed steel structure of the addition evokes the original barn timbers, but the use of modern materials and technologies – steel, pre-fabricated structural insulated panels, expansive yet highly efficient glass, a radiant floor and sustainable materials – makes this a decidedly fresh interpretation of the past (photos © Durston Saylor).
