Pandora Media’s NYC offices were featured in Urban Land, the magazine of the Urban Land Institute. Check out the article to learn more about how Pandora's fresh space reflects its musical identity.

The renovated penthouse terrace features a new outdoor kitchen, a shady pergola and a soaking tub. All new bluestone pavers, ipe decking, and glass railings provide the back drop for this urban garden in the sky.

With the abatement complete, the demolition of non-structural interior partitions has begun. What a mess! But it won’t be long before this is cleaned up and ready for the new steel installation.

The  deep mini-caisson foundations and diaphragm steel for the new third and fourth floor are now complete. We are ready for the eight W14x730 columns (22,000lbs each!) that will thread through the existing school to carry the new expansion. Construction resumes in Spring 2016.

The Board of Standards and Appeals has granted zoning variances for Manhattan Country School that will allow the school to add floor area and build a rooftop penthouse.

We’re happy to announce that our Pandora Media project has received an Award of Merit from the Illuminating Engineering Society of America. Congratulations to our lighting designers at Horton Lees Brogdon!

ABA is proud to say that we have been honored by the Council of Educational Facility Planners International (CEFPI) with a 2015 Award of Distinction for LREI.

ABA has been working on the design for a terrace renovation at a Chelsea penthouse which will include a new outdoor kitchen, hot tub, landscaping, lighting and exterior finishes. 

Andrew is visiting his alma mater today, speaking at Bennington College for the final portion of their 2014 Fall Visual Arts Lecture Series, hosted by the Architecture Department.

Get your tickets to tour LREI on Saturday, October 11th for OHNYwknd.  The four-phase expansion doubled the size of a high school on a complex urban site with historical designation, creating a new "campus" organization with subtractive interior courtyard.

Keep your eyes peeled while traveling through the West 4th Street subway station this month - AIA New York Chapter will open New York New Design on October 9th, and LREI is among the wonderful project photos wrapping the south corridor walls.

Claudette won over Greenwich Village residents and New Yorkers alike this summer, and the praise keeps coming. Zagat, NY Post, and Grub Street, to name a few, each admired the open, airy space, and the grand french doors that open to 5th Avenue.

ABA is ready to kick-off the academic year with Manhattan Country School!  ABA's elevated urban courtyard design transforms this charming Upper West Side space into a welcoming community building for this very cool K-8 school.

Pandora Media Offices is Architizer's Project of the Day today.  The project was also featured last month on their website for it's fresh, contemporary design take on today's burgeoning tech company culture.

We’ve recently been working on a scheme for an emerging artists’ and curators exhibition space in Bushwick. The project envisions an industrial facility repurposed to a net-zero complex organized around an interior/exterior promenade with flexible gallery spaces.

The Mosley house and studio in Canaan is turning 25, and these twin buildings look as charming as ever. The hilltop live and work spaces sit across from one another to frame this timeless view of the Hudson Valley on a beautiful July afternoon. Cheers to 25!

Foodies rejoice! Rosemary's sister restaurant Claudette is open for business! Greenwich Village neighbors approve of the Provençal menu and rustic atmosphere, making this the perfect close-to-home summer escape.

We are thrilled to announce that our design for a 2-story expansion of Saint Luke's School in Greenwich Village was approved today by the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission.  We are pleased to get the green light and very excited to move forward!

ABA is designing a new entry for this Midtown address in the shadow of the Empire State Building.  We'll be working with software company Pentagon 2000 again to give the lobby and elevators the full ABA sparkle-and-shine.

Proposed new energy-efficient windows and thru-wall units for the renovation at Fifth Ave and 78th Street have been approved by LPC.  Construction begins to transform this apartment into a delightfully modern home.

The doors opened to Pandora employees for the first time today at their new 2-story office space.  We welcome everyone and wish them a smooth transition into their new home.

To Landmarks we go!  ABA went in front of LPC this afternoon to present their design for a 2-story addition to Saint Luke's School.  Now to perfect our design after some great comments from both the commissioners and the public who attended!

We're delighted that Gateway has asked us back to help reconfigure some of the spaces we built together in 2007-10.  We're looking forward to facilitating their immediate and future growth as a school!

Construction has begun at 125 Park Avenue, the soon to be new home for Pandora Media in Manhattan.  The hole has been cut for a large interior stair that will be the heart of the open office space.

Throngs of eager students and faculty flooded into the new and improved parts of their school on Charlton Street this morning as their expanded performance space and six new classrooms went live.  Thoughtful architecture really does inspire learning!

As summer rolls around, Independence Day plans are being finalized, and this lakeside house renovation wraps up.  Our repeat clients are thrilled to spend the summer in their new home with guests close by.

ABA's penthouse addition atop this loft building is ready for furniture!  The residence underwent several phases of construction to convert this repeat client's painting studio into two separate apartments and a rooftop expansion.  More photos to come!

The fourth and final phase of LREI's expansion project is underway as of this morning.  Excavation began for an extension at the rear of the school, which will allow for a new stage for the school's current auditorium.  Can u dig it?

La Perla's SoHo boutique was relocated from their former home on Greene Street to a more prominent West Broadway location.  The retail renovation incorporates new digital graphic systems and well-lit spaces for a modern, refreshing shopping experience.

New project alert!  In the words of Bart Baldwin, Head of School over at St. Luke's, the JK-8 institution is about to grow "from tiny to small."  Who better than ABA for this unique renovation and expansion project located in historically landmarked Greenwich Village?

After great satisfaction with their guesthouse conversion, our Morris clients hired us again for the re-design of their main house on the lakeside property.  Construction is fast-tracked and scheduled to be complete by summer.

Sorry Pig and Khao, step aside L'Apicio: we're excited and proud to hear that Rosemary's won Eater's "So Hot Right Now" 2012 award.  Congratulations Rosemary's!

Today was a happy day for the LREI community and ABA as a celebration ensued for the school's new four-story Arts Pavilion complete with open interior courtyard.  It is an amazing thing to see your clients inhabiting and enjoying the space! More photos here!

It's been a productive season on the roof at Rosemary's!  Lush rows of herbs and vegetables grid the roof, with the tomatoes enjoying a particularly nice view along W 10th Street.

Doors are open at Rosemary's and the early word is that Carlos has another hit on his hands.  Our best wishes to the whole team!

Summertime guests of the Morris lakeside house arrive for the annual holiday event.  This year our clients have a beautiful new guesthouse to accommodate out-of-town friends and family.

Just in time for Memorial Day, our clients are moving into their newly renovated home in the country.  After the completion of this multi-phase project, our Prince Street clients are happy to get away from the city and relax poolside.

Updates to La Perla's SoHo location are complete with minimal down-time.  Refreshing, contemporary alterations to the space establish a more intimate retail experience for boutique visitors.

Good news!  ABA's design for Carlos Suarez' new eatery passed Landmarks review today with flying colors.  Thanks to everyone for pulling together a great presentation.

The tides at Morris Lake are rising!  (Or the boathouse is sinking)  Either way, the building and dock are in serious need of rehab.  Raising them up three feet on new concrete foundations will do the trick.

The existing tractor barn is being transformed into a multi-room guesthouse for our Connecticut client.  Views of the lake will be maximized through new subtractive porches and large picture windows just in time for Independence Day.

ABA's 1999 Cliff Barn with 2008 Bersani addition were featured in Samuel White's Nice House, which, quite literally, chose a handful of "nice" houses across the nation and expounds upon their appealing but unintimidating design strategies.

ABA's recent work for The Gateway School was used as a case study for specialized school design in Peter Lippman's new book titled, Evidence-Based Design of Elementary and Secondary Schools.

The redesigned corporate offices of La Perla North America are complete.  An open office design provides maximum efficiency and productivity for company employees.

Locals mourning the loss of Village Paper will soon have something to cheer about: Carlos Suarez, owner of Bobo Restaurant, has plans for a new farm to table bistro with rooftop garden for the unique corner lot.

It's official: The Gateway Schools is the first LEED Silver school in Manhattan!  Our sincere thanks to Gateway and the project team for their commitment to sustainable building design.  Congratulations!
